Mijacic: The note in which Kosovo complains to EU members about Lajcak is unprecedented amateurism

Dragisa Mijacic, the Coordinator of the National Convention on the European Union for Chapter 35, has assessed that the "note verbale" sent by the Kosovo Embassy in Brussels to the permanent representatives of the 27 EU member states, informing them of its view on the latest round of dialogue in Brussels, represented unprecedented amateurism in diplomatic communication.

Mijacic, on the social network "X," stated that the "lengthy note" mainly focused on how the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, had been biased as a negotiator.

"The Kosovo Embassy in Brussels sent a 'note verbale' to the EU27 permanent representatives, informing them about the outcomes of the September 14 meeting. This 8-page letter (far too long communique) mainly rumbles about Lajcak being biased as a facilitator, how Serbia is the obstructive party and Kosovo constructive," Mijacic pointed out.

He noted that, among other things, the letter used inadequate and unofficial Albanian names for the city of Ohrid and Kosovo.

"In the letter, the Albanian name 'Ohër' is used instead of the official toponym 'Ohrid,' 'Republic of Kosova' instead of the constitutional English name 'Republic of Kosovo,' and 'Basic Agreement' instead of the 'Agreement on the path to normalisation' (official name)," Mijacic stated.

He concluded that it was futile to comment on the "amateurism" with which the Kosovo Embassy in Brussels had approached diplomatic communication with EU member states.

"Anything further to say is futile, such amateurism in diplomatic communication is unprecedented," Mijacic remarked.
