Escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo, according to Dejan Miletic from the Center for the Study of Globalization, was inevitable, Kurir reports.

"It seems to me that it is only a matter of time and that Kurti will not stop until there are victims in the area of Kosovo and Metohija. It is a flame that is difficult for anyone to put out. Any action by the Pristina forces in the area of the northern part of Kosovo and Metohija is inadmissible and had to be energetically stopped. That didn't happen. With that, we entered a phase where I don't even see the goodwill and desire of international representatives to see the happenings on the ground and to stop Kurti. There will probably be some escalation," Miletic pointed out.

He also pointed out that there was no pressure on Pristina to implement the reached agreements.

"Our people have come out of the institutions out of great pain and after ten years of disobeying the Brussels Agreement. Instead of putting an end to it and decisively putting pressure on Kurti's policy and implementing what was agreed upon, it turned out that no one is interested. They are playing with us and international law. To make the tragedy worse, they are thereby collapsing their institutions and the credibility of the US," Miletic said.
