Minister Krasniqi entered the Leposavic municipality building, Serbs approached the entrance doors

Minister of Public Administration and Local Government, Elbert Krasniqi, entered the municipality building of Leposavic this morning during a police shift to hold a meeting with the mayor from the Self-Determination Movement, Lulzim Hetemi, a Kosovo Online reporter reports, with the information that representatives of Serbs are currently stationed in front of the building's entrance, viewing this as a new provocation by Pristina.

Former mayor of Leposavic, Zoran Todic, confirmed the information about Elbert Krasniqi's entrance to the municipality building to our reporter, stating that the commander of the Hungarian contingent of KFOR, which provides security for the entrance to the building, confirmed it.

Unofficially, we have learned that the deputy mayor, Dragana Miletic, and municipal councilors were also planned to enter the building, which the gathered Serbs perceive as a possible attempt to make decisions against the will of the inhabitants of Leposavic, who did not participate in the recent local elections.

A large group of Serbs in Leposavic is peacefully protesting in front of the municipality building this morning, demanding that the special police and Hetemi leave the building, and some of them managed to approach the entrance doors.

Before the assembled citizens moved the fence and reached the entrance to the municipality building, a representative of the Hungarian KFOR told Todic that the entrance of Deputy Mayor Hetemi and some other people was planned, although he had advised against it.

The KFOR representative stated that because of this, he had to ensure the safety of his soldiers.

"You have done nothing wrong, but for their safety, I have to tell them to prepare helmets, shields, and equipment. It is not directed against you or anyone else; it is a precautionary measure for their safety," the KFOR representative said.

Todic stated that they could not influence KFOR protocols and asked the gathered people if they wanted to go to their workplaces, to which there was a unanimous response of "yes."

The protesters moved the fence and reached the entrance of the municipal building.

KFOR requested them to withdraw, but the gathered people refused.

"We want to go to our workplaces," the citizens declared.

Hungarian soldiers, who replaced Italian and American soldiers, stand at the doors, and as reported by Kosovo Online's correspondent, behind the KFOR soldiers at the building's entrance, a group of Kosovo special forces can be seen.

There is a ring of black KFOR jeeps in front of the municipality, with Hungarian soldiers deployed alongside them.

Barbed wire is still placed behind the building, and two special police unit vehicles are present.
