Odalovic: Kurti does not want to solve the problems, there will be no progress in the dialogue

Veljko Odalovic, President of the Serbian Government's Commission for Missing Persons, believes that there can be no progress in the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has no intention of solving the problems, as reported by RTS.

Odalovic emphasized that the Community of Serb Municipalities still did not exist in any form.

As he pointed out, Pristina ridiculed the presentation of the action plan for the Community of Serb Municipalities, and northern Kosovo is institutionally occupied by the mayors appointed by Albin Kurti.

"What kind of de-escalation of the situation in northern Kosovo and Metohija is this when 50 special forces enter the 'Lola' factory in Zubin Potok?" Odalovic asked.
As he emphasized, attacks on Serbs number in the hundreds, and Brussels does not pay attention to or mention them in meetings.

"MTS is the only beacon in Kosovo and Metohija that still works, and Kurti wants to shut it down. Police with long guns continue to raid the premises of Serbs. The Pristina Minister of Local Government presented a plan for the withdrawal of Albanian mayors, which cannot be completed by New Year's. Kurti will continue to do things his way, and there will still be no goods from central Serbia," Odalovic said.

He believes that Kurti will go to Brussels only to create new problems.

"The text of the Declaration on Missing Persons has been agreed upon, but the Prime Minister of the interim institutions in Pristina doesn't want to discuss it," Odalovic emphasized.

Odalovic sees the Declaration from the Brdo-Brijuni Summit, where the main point was the admission of Western Balkan countries to the EU by 2030, only as a nice wish because, as he points out, Brussels is not interested in enlargement.

The leaders of the countries participating in the Brdo-Brijuni Summit held in Skopje committed to reaffirming their position on EU enlargement and the Western Balkans' EU membership perspective, as the most direct contribution to preserving peace and stability. They pledged to intensify a strategic dialogue with EU institutions to accelerate the EU accession process and prevent the region from being neglected.

Odalovic believes that the message of the Brdo-Brijuni Process Summit is unconvincing.

"There are reasons for well-founded skepticism since the EU integration process has been going on for quite some time. Making these nice wishes come true will take a long time due to the EU's lack of interest in enlargement," Odalovic stated.

According to him, the atypical standards set for Serbia through Chapter 35 put a "noose around Serbia's neck" by conveying the message that entry into the EU is only possible with recognition of Kosovo's independence.
