Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Auxiliary buildings of the Djokic family from Radevo set on fire, significant material damage incurred

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija has reported that significant material damage was caused to the Djokic family from Radevo near Lipljan, when their auxiliary buildings used for storing clover, corn, and agricultural machinery were set on fire last night. The five-member Serbian family, which is engaged in agriculture, was directly affected by this act of violence.

The Office emphasized that holiday times are repeatedly used to send a message to the Serbian population on Kosovo that they cannot relax, and that they can never be at peace any day of the year.

"This level of politically sponsored hatred and aggression has not been seen in Europe for decades, and it is incredible that, despite the harsh daily reality, there are still those in the international community who talk about democracy and rule of law in Kosovo and Metohija," they stated.

They criticized the lack of legal action against Albanian extremists over the years, noting that in a normal and peaceful society, the role of the police would be to prevent and solve hate crimes. However, they claim that no Albanian extremist has been convicted for hate speech or ethnically motivated attacks for years.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija also pointed out that each act of violence against Serbs in Kosovo is driven by the ideology of hate promoted by Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and they urged the international presence in Kosovo and Metohija to take more decisive steps to normalize the political and social climate in the southern Serbian province and restore it to peaceful conditions.
