With the Kosovo Police's raid on the premises of the Directorate for Construction Land and Roads and the Directorate for Housing and Commercial Space in North Mitrovica, the terror of Pristina against Serbs and their institutions in the north of Kosovo has continued in a drastic and brutal manner, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced.

The Office explains that this is a continuation of the brutal and unlawful seizure of Serbian property in the north, which is in violation of all existing agreements and accords.

"Members of the Special Police of Albin Kurti raided today the premises of the Directorate for Construction Land and Roads and the Directorate for Housing and Commercial Space in North Mitrovica, continuing the drastic and brutal terror of Pristina against Serbs and their institutions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. This is a continuation of the brutal and unlawful seizure of Serbian property in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, in violation of all existing agreements and accords," the statement reads.

The Office emphasizes that about 70 employees of these institutions were identified and then ordered to leave the premises, as they were told that they had no business there.

The occupation of the premises of the two Serbian institutions is ongoing, and armed Kosovo police officers are stationed around the building housing the two directorates, immediately beginning to remove the Serbian flag.

These directorates are located in a residential building, and the raid has caused fear and anxiety among the employees as well as the residents of this and the surrounding buildings, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija warns.

"It is clear that Albin Kurti is determined to further destabilize the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija ahead of the elections and is trying to provoke a reaction from Serbs, which would serve as an excuse to prevent the Serb List from participating in the elections for the parliament of the temporary self-government institutions in Pristina," they point out.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija calls on all Serbs in the north of Kosovo to remain calm and not fall for provocations, and urges the international presence in Kosovo to take urgent measures to restrain and prevent Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti from provoking conflicts.

"Serbs will fight against the violence they are exposed to and the complete denial of their human rights through all legitimate political and democratic methods, and this is what Kurti fears the most. The Office for Kosovo and Metohija and other relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia will inform all relevant international actors about the latest wave of violence and unlawful actions carried out by Albin Kurti," the statement concludes.
