Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Kurti does not want normalization of relations, but a violent change of ethnic structure in the north

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that the closure of the Tax Administration in North Mitrovica is a clear indication that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti does not want the normalization of relations, but rather a violent change of the ethnic structure, particularly in northern Kosovo.

“The illegal closure of the Serbian Tax Administration in Kosovska Mitrovica by Pristina today is a clear sign that Kurti does not want the normalization of relations or peaceful coexistence in Kosovo and Metohija, but a violent change in the ethnic structure, especially in the north, and the strengthening of his occupation and reign of terror,” the statement reads.

According to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Kurti, who does not wish any good for Serbs in Kosovo, along with his subordinates like Nenad Rasic, bases his election program solely on the extermination and persecution of Serbs from Kosovo, in order to further prevent Serbs from voting in the upcoming elections and help his preferred candidates continue their anti-Serb policies.

“The eviction of around 80 Tax Administration workers is a brutal violation of their basic human rights, including the right to work. But what is important is that the state of Serbia will not allow our workers' livelihoods to be threatened or for them to be left without income. And this is what hurts Kurti the most – that he cannot stop help for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, that he cannot break the spirit or the will of the Serbian people to survive in their centuries-old hearths,” the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.

As they emphasized, the non-response of the international community, which is observing Kurti’s actions, is particularly concerning.

“What is especially worrying is the inaction of the international community, from which we again demand a clear stance regarding the unlawful actions of Pristina and to answer the question of whether their inaction supports these actions, and whether their presence on the ground during Kurti’s police operations actually serves as a shield for their actions,” the statement concludes.
