The Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Through brutal interventions, the authorities in Pristina aim to seize the temples and monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church

The invasion of the Church of St. Archangel Michael in the village of Rakitnica by officials from Podujevo, led by the false and self-proclaimed Albanian priest Nikola Xhufka, represents a new attack on the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Eparchy of Raska-Prizren, with the aim of eradicating and appropriating Serbian Orthodox religious heritage in Kosovo and Metohija, as stated by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
"This violent and planned act undoubtedly could not have been carried out without the knowledge and support of institutions in Pristina, led by Albin Kurti, whose actions are based solely on a reckoning with everything Serbian in the Kosovo and Metohija region. For more than two decades, Pristina and extremists systematically and organizedly desecrate and massively destroy Serbian churches and monasteries in Kosovo and Metohija to prevent the return of people to their centuries-old homes and eradicate the seed of Serbian existence. It is well known that our churches have always been places of gathering and unity, as well as pillars of the identity and spirituality of our people," the statement says.
As added by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, authorities in Pristina are attempting, through various perfidious and dangerous strategies, to take over Serbian Orthodox Church temples and monasteries and declare them part of the so-called Kosovo heritage. Ultimately, they resort to brutal invasions of the properties of Serbian Orthodox Church sanctuaries due to the strength and importance the Serbian Church holds for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
"This is an issue that should draw the attention of the entire international community because the treatment of silence while Serbian graves are destroyed and desecrated, Serbian bones are unearthed, Serbian houses are stoned, and Serbian land is unlawfully seized, and now churches, is unacceptable. The Eparchy of Raska-Prizren warned that the false priest Xhufka is a charlatan of regional proportions condemned by the Orthodox Church of Albania. His harmful actions have been warned against, and he only finds support from representatives of the so-called Pristina political establishment," the statement concludes.
