Orlic: Situation in Kosovo is difficult and serious due to Kurti's actions

The President of the Serbian Parliament, Vladimir Orlic, has stated that the situation in Kosovo is very difficult and serious and that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is attempting to provoke a serious escalation, as reported by RTV.

As he noted, this is now understood by many around the world.

"We have heard from Rama how much he disagrees with what Kurti is doing," Orlic emphasized.

He stated that the public had also heard about the next steps to be taken by Serbia and its President Aleksandar Vucic, which include asking for a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and convening an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council.

"We will address the essential issues of Kosovo and Metohija there. It would be best if someone who can influence Kurti reaches out to him and lets him know that he can no longer behave like this. Kurti is a fanatic who has made it his mission to cleanse Kosovo of Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church," Orlic said.

As he mentioned, he cannot say whether the mentors will succeed in dealing with Kurti, but as he said, they will have to do so because "it is not good for anyone to be led into open war by such a person."

Orlic also commented on yesterday's meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, stating that it demonstrates what a serious and responsible approach can achieve and make historic changes in the relations between Serbia and Albania.

"Somebody had to make the relations we have with Albania possible, and ten years ago, it was unimaginable due to many factors, primarily the difficult history of relations between our countries and peoples. However, it has been proven that we can talk and consider what is smart and beneficial for both sides," Orlic emphasized.

He added that this is also being done through the "Open Balkan" initiative, which has helped increase trade among member countries by 30 percent.
