The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, had a conversation today with the Ambassador of Israel in Belgrade, Jahel Vilan. During the meeting, Orlic emphasized that Serbia advocated for the same principles for others as it did for itself - respect for United Nations Security Council resolutions and reached agreements.

As stated by the National Assembly of Serbia, the discussion also covered the current developments in Israel.

During the conversation, Orlic conveyed that Serbia advocated peaceful solutions.

"We want peace for everyone as much as for ourselves and our people. We call for respect for UN Security Council resolutions and reached agreements. What we seek for our people, we respect and advocate for others as well".

Ambassador Vilan provided detailed information to President Orlic about the situation in Israel, which he also discussed with the Friendship Group with Israel in the National Assembly of Serbia. He emphasized that for Israel, adhering to international public law was of the utmost importance and stressed that his country "is not in conflict with the Palestinians but with the terrorist organization Hamas and its ideology".

Both interlocutors praised the engagement of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Serbian Government in evacuating not only Serbian citizens but also people from the entire region.
