Azerbaijan's position on the non-recognition of Kosovo remains firm and unchanged, just as it stands that Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty must be principled, Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed today in a conversation with the President of the Serbian Parliament, Vladimir Orlic.

Orlic, who is on an official visit to Baku, held separate meetings today with Prime Minister Asadov and Foreign Minister Bayramov, during which he informed them about the difficult situation in Kosovo and the daily terror and violence being perpetrated by Pristina against the Serbian people, in what he described as "flagrant attempts to escalate, disrupt all dialogue, and permanently jeopardize peace."

Orlic also discussed further strengthening bilateral cooperation with his hosts, according to a statement from the Serbian Parliament.

During his conversation with Prime Minister Asadov, he emphasized that the Serbian parliament was ready, within its jurisdiction, to contribute to the improvement of relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan, and he was pleased to note that important agreements had been ratified in the previous period.

He expressed gratitude for Baku's support for Serbia's candidacy to host Expo 2027, expressing the expectation that Azerbaijan would participate in this prestigious event.

In the meeting with Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Orlic and Bayramov assessed that the two countries maintained regular political dialogue at all levels, as evidenced by recent meetings of foreign ministers on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, parliamentary visits, and, above all, the regular communication between the two presidents.

The agenda of both meetings included the topic of enhancing economic and energy cooperation as well as important regional issues.

A strong commitment was expressed by both sides to continue cooperation in all areas on the basis of mutual respect, trust, and understanding.

As part of his visit to Baku, after meetings with officials, Orlic visited the Center for Serbian Language and Culture at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, which was opened by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in May 2018.

The President of the Parliament met with the rector of the University, Kamal Abdullayev, who conveyed gratitude to Serbia and its leadership for their support of the Center's operations.

Orlic also spoke with professors and students of the Serbian language, to whom he presented textbooks – a replica of the Sretenje Constitution and others that will further acquaint them with the culture, tradition, and history of the Serbian people, the statement added.
