OSCE: We have informed the Government of Kosovo about Serbia's request to participate in the collection of ballots
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has informed the Government in Pristina and other relevant actors that they have received a request from the Government of Serbia for the Mission to carry out the collection of the ballots of voters living in Kosovo for the parliamentary elections in Serbia on December 17, stating that they are ready for this process, as reported by the OSCE for Kosovo Online.
However, they emphasize that the Mission OSCE requires the support of Kosovo institutions for the implementation of this action.
"The OSCE Mission in Kosovo received, on November 3, a request from the Government of Serbia to carry out the collection of the ballots of voters residing in Kosovo for the parliamentary elections in Serbia on December 17. As in previous cases, the support of Kosovo institutions is of essential importance for the OSCE to undertake such an operation, as originally agreed upon between Belgrade and Pristina in 2012, with the support of the EU and the Quint", the response states.
As they emphasize, the Mission is essentially ready to carry out the collection of ballots under the same conditions as in previous similar situations.
"The Mission has informed the Government of Kosovo and other relevant actors about the request and is essentially ready to carry out the collection of ballots under the same conditions as in previous similar situations", the OSCE emphasizes.
These conditions, as stated, include the consent of both sides and the provision of the necessary security support for this operation, including the Kosovo Police.
