Osmani: Dialogue with Serbia about the Ibar Bridge a violation of Kosovo's Constitution
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated that a dialogue with Serbia about opening the Ibar Bridge would represent a violation of the Constitution of Kosovo, Indeks Online reports.
"At no point is it in Kosovo's interest for this issue to be part of the dialogue with Serbia," Osmani emphasized.
As she stated, the problem with the dialogue is that it has not been conducted based on the principle of equality between the parties for a long time.
Commenting on yesterday's meeting in Brussels, Osmani said that Kosovo's chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, should be asked about the topics that had been agreed upon.
"As for the topics, ask the chief negotiator which issues were agreed upon, as there have been public statements that some topics were settled together with Lajcak," she said.
She emphasized the Ibar Bridge should be discussed with Kosovo's security partners because, as she said, it is required by the Brussels Agreements.
"Above all, it is in Kosovo's interest to work with our security partners, to have this plan, which will then be implemented. When the bridge is opened, it will be a permanent decision that no one can or should dispute," Osmani said.
