Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated after a meeting with Gabriel Escobar, the Special Representative of the United States for the Western Balkans, and Miroslav Lajcak, the EU Special Representative for the Dialogue, that new elections in municipalities in the north could be organized in accordance with the current constitutional and legal framework, ensuring democratic participation of the residents in those four municipalities.

According to the Facebook page of the Presidency, during the meeting discussing the situation in the north, Osmani expressed her full commitment to cooperation with international partners in order to establish "law and order in that part and preserve the sovereignty of Kosovo."

"Punishing criminal groups and individuals who have used violence against the police, journalists, KFOR members, EULEX, and citizens, is the only way to achieve sustainable and long-term stability. Therefore, we expect law enforcement institutions to do their job, in accordance with the law, to bring to justice the criminal groups responsible for the violence," Osmani said.

Osmani also highlighted the importance of strengthening alliances with the United States and the European Union in fulfilling common goals on the Euro-Atlantic path and enhancing Kosovo's international subjectivity.
