Pantovic: The arrested Elezovic is in a very bad state of health and is in a hospital in Pristina
Lawyer Ljubomir Pantovic announced that the arrested Ilija Elezovic was charged with the crime of "war crime against the civilian population", adding that he was in a hospital in Pristina due to his poor health.
Lawyer Pantovic points out that Elezovic has been detained by the police for 48 hours, and that he will be brought before a judge tomorrow.
"After the arrest, Elezovic was transferred to Pristina. The Special Prosecution of Kosovo charges him with the crime of „war criminal against the civilian population'' and by order of the Prosecution, Elezovic was detained for 48 hours in police custody. I expect him to be brought before the trial judge of the Basic Court tomorrow in Pristina, at the request of the Prosecution to order him into judicial custody," Pantovic told Kosovo Online.
The lawyer added that Elezovic was in a very bad state of health.
"Today he was examined by a doctor in Pristina, and he explicitly ordered the police to transfer him to the hospital, because his health condition does not allow him to be placed in any detention facility, including police custody. This was done, and he is in the hospital in Pristina," the lawyer pointed out.
Regarding the arrest of Elezovic, lawyer Pantovic believes that the arrest was not the most professional.
"I don't know the details of the arrest itself, but I can say that Ilija told me that the police had not treated him harshly. The fact that I, as a defense lawyer, could not know for several hours where he was, why he was arrested, and that he did not receive a phone call, still says that all this did not take place according to democratic standards and according to the law," Pantovic concluded.
