Peci: No final agreement without the CSM
The executive director of the Kosovo Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED), Lulzim Peci, said that if the Government of Kosovo did not show the will to establish a Community of Serb-majority Municipalities (CSM), there would be no final agreement with Serbia, Gazeta Blic reports.
Peci stated that in the program "Respublika" on TV 1 and added that whoever thought a final agreement with Serbia could be reached without the CSM was either deceiving himself or deceiving public opinion.
He also said that from 2017 to 2020, no one mentioned the CSM because something else was planned to be done, but as he said, when the territorial exchange plan failed, the question of forming the CSM came up again.
"We are now in a position where the CSM establishment will be inevitable because if they do not show the will to form it, then Kosovo will be declared guilty of boycotting the negotiations, and the consequences for our country will be great, to the extent that it will lead to losing the international support. If they find us guilty, then it will be considered that Serbia has finished its work with Chapter 35, it will get the right path to EU integration, and that would be catastrophic for us," Peci said.
