Petkovic: Broken shop windows confirm Kurti's regime true nature

Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Petar Petkovic pointed out that the shop windows of four Serbian shops in the ethnically mixed Bosniak Mahala neighborhood in North Mitrovica were smashed in an insidious attack by extremists, in international presence's sight, which confirmed the intention and true nature of the regime of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Petkovic stated that the intention and reason for sending Kosovo police with long guns to mixed Serb areas in Kosovo were clear.

"The international day of the fight against fascism and anti-Semitism is celebrated all over the world in memory of the tragedy that began with the breaking of the shop window, and this is an unambiguous confirmation that Kurti's ideology and practice is uncovered fascism. Experience teaches us that violence against communities and peoples begins precisely with attacks on their property, and that is why it is necessary for UNMIK (The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo) and KFOR to urgently protect Serbs and their property in Kosovo and Metohija because history does not forgive indifference in situations like this," Petkovic stressed.

As he added, "Kurti's extremists" did not even allow Serbs to celebrate Saint Nicholas in peace.

"Every day, he and his thugs in police uniforms take us away from a peaceful solution to the situation in the north of the province," Petkovic pointed out.

He added that Kurti hoped to intimidate the Serbs with such attacks but that he would not succeed.

"Kurti hopes that by creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, he will discourage the Serbs in northern Kosovo and Metohija and that he will dull their determination to persevere in the just fight for their rights, but the Serbian people have endured worse oppression and defeated even bigger bullies than him, thus they will win this time as well," Petkovic concluded.
