Petkovic: EU has come out with its draft statute for the CSM, Kurti has rejected that as well

Everything Serbian is endangered today because there is no CSM, but Pristina has been refusing to fulfill its obligations for 11 years now, and you can see from Kurti's and Osmani's statements that they have no intention of ever establishing the CSM, even though it represents the backbone of the Brussels Agreement, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said.

Petkovic, speaking on Pink TV, mentioned that meetings dedicated to the CSM had started in November under Western pressure.

"In November 2023, we started meetings dedicated to the CSM. Pristina has been refusing to form it for 11 years, and it seems they will never do so, even though it represents the backbone of the Brussels Agreement and the agreement because the first six points of the agreement relate to the formation of the CSM, and they don't want to do that to ensure individual and collective rights for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. Everything Serbian is endangered today in Kosovo because we don't have the CSM. Serbs are leaving, 15 percent of Serbs have permanently left Kosovo and Metohija and their homes because we don't have the CSM and the authorities specified in the agreement. Now, under Western pressure, we started talking about the CSM in November last year," Petkovic said.

The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija reminded that in May last year, the management team, after five years, had been invited by the EU to present its draft statute at a high level before Vucic and Kurti.

"They completed their draft statute in five months, sent it to the EU, and said they had done their job and awaited the call for its high-level presentation. They have been waiting for a response for five years, and in May, it was presented by the management team, which is the only one authorized to present the draft statute. However, what happened? Kurti rejected that draft statute, saying there is no management team for him because he violated his own rules since the members of that team were approved by both Pristina and Belgrade. Then Lajcak approved a new process and gave additional impetus for the formation of the CSM: the EU has come out with its draft statute because Pristina rejected the draft statute of the management team. To show our constructiveness, we said that we were ready to talk about that document even though we had the draft of the management team on the table. That EU draft is a good basis for discussion, so based on it, a new statute can be adopted that would elaborate on everything agreed upon in 2015. We had three meetings in November where our experts negotiated with the EU about that EU statute, and believe it or not, the meetings were good. We made a good step forward. But when Pristina saw that it was heading towards an agreement on the final statute and that everyone had found common ground, to prevent those talks and agreement on the final statute, Kurti started with a unilateral decision regarding the abolition of the dinar," Petkovic said.

Petkovic notes that the ban on the dinar endangers the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"That was the worst escalatory measure Kurti took toward the Serbian people. Of course, since then, everything has stopped, the security and survival of our people in Kosovo and Metohija are endangered, so we started dealing with the dinar. Since then, we have had six meetings where we deal with the dinar and talk with them, but it is impossible to talk to Bislimi, I would need a special show to explain how it looks in Brussels," he emphasized.

As he says, Belgrade has shown readiness to discuss the draft statute.

"We are ready to discuss the draft statute. But Pristina rejects that. They say they won't accept the draft statute of the management team, they won't accept the EU draft statute, but they want to enter the Council of Europe. How is it possible for someone to enter the Council of Europe without any conditions, and they have violated everything. Nothing about the CSM, expropriation; we'll see how things will unfold," Petkovic stressed.

When asked if he had received any explanation as to why he had been banned from entering Kosovo for Easter, Petkovic said that he had only received one sentence in an email saying that his visit was banned.

"For a year now, the Pristina regime, led by Albin Kurti, has been preventing me from visiting Kosovo and Metohija, violating the agreement on official visits, even though I announced my visit in a timely manner in accordance with all procedures. Although we recently raised this issue again in Brussels, they once again ignored all agreements and banned my visit in the most disgusting way, even though the goal was to be with our people at the Easter Liturgy in Visoki Decani, to be with our people at the Gracanica Monastery, and in Kosovo Pomoravlje. Although these visits are exclusively of a religious nature, it was not enough for Albin Kurti and Pristina to allow my visit, even on the most significant Christian holiday. Let me be clear, Kurti or Pristina has no authority to allow me a visit to Kosovo and Metohija; they are now abusing the agreement on official visits, trying to show that they are some kind of state, even though they never will be," Petkovic said.

"How can we talk about normalization of relations or any agreement when, at those moments, Pristina shows malice and tramples on everything we agreed upon. The Serbian people will never be abandoned by Serbia, and we will fight for our people in Kosovo and Metohija; we have never allocated a larger amount of money than we have in recent times," he emphasized.

Regarding the last United Nations session, Petkovic says it was brutal propaganda, and it is well known with whose help Osmani brought people into the room, outside the protocol.

"It is known how they entered. It was agreed with their mentors who recognize Kosovo's independence, and they didn't care about procedures or international law, they wanted to carry out some political charade there. Vjosa Osmani blatantly lied to the UN and the protocol by saying that the women she brought were part of her cabinet, which is an absolute lie. If we wanted to, concerning raped Serbian women and displaced persons, the entire square in front of the UN would have been full. It is not about that; the idea and reason for Vucic's attendance at the UN session were to present the situation on the ground and highlight everything that is happening on the ground. Osmani was engaged in propaganda. That story about 20,000 raped women is so inflated, we were proving what they were resorting to and what lies it was, and according to their data, the number is 20 times smaller. That number is around 1,000, and according to the UN report, it did not exceed 890. Those are all lies, and everything is being done to discredit Serbia," Petkovic said.
