Petkovic: The EU no longer looks favorably on Pristina's attempts to destabilize the region

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, reacted today to the indignation of the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, due to the resolute demands that were put before Pristina and pointed out that the Kosovo authorities could not accept that the EU no longer looked favorably on their attempts to destabilize the region.

As stated in the announcement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petkovic emphasized that the time had passed when Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti and his associates had been allowed to do everything.

"Vjosa Osmani's latest laments confirm that the extremist elite in Pristina is not capable of understanding that the time when Kurti and his associates were allowed to do everything has irrevocably passed and that the EU does not look kindly on their attempts to destabilize the region. The indignation of Vjosa Osmani due to the resolute demands that were put before Pristina is partly understandable, because the sponsors of the self-proclaimed "Kosovo" were in the past ready to tolerate any irresponsibility of the extremist political elite in Pristina, but the world is changing, and thus the stakes and rules of politics in the West the Balkans," Petkovic said.

Instead of realizing this in Pristina and immediately doing everything to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo and return it to its previous state, and then to enable the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, Petkovic points out, they are doing the opposite, and now, as he adds, not only they threaten the Serbs and Serbia, but they also threaten everyone else in the region who resist Kurti's Greater Albanian project.

"In the past, so-called Kosovo was a restless child of the West, which was allowed to run wild, but that era is over, and it is good that the EU realized that leniency towards Pristina went too far and could have unfathomable and tragic consequences," the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija said.

He points out that Serbia will continue to work on stabilizing the situation in the region and "consolidating peace where Kurti wishes for conflicts".

"Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, will continue to work sincerely and consistently to stabilize the situation in the region and to consolidate peace where Kurti wishes for conflicts, and to open space for cooperation and progress where Kurti wishes for war and regression," Petkovic said.
