The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia, Petar Petkovic, stressed that the latest statement by Donika Gervalla that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities was dead showed Kurti's militant politics' essence toward the Serbs.

"How is it that the Brussels Agreement is dead for Kurti, but the fascist idea of a Greater Albania is not dead? This Pristina's approach is a question exclusively for the European Union and the US because it is clear as day that Kurti is the source of all the problems in Kosovo since he is the one who says that the dialogue is dead. Pristina's politicians persistently refuse to understand that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is not a topic for rhetorical exercises and deliberations, but that it is an unambiguous obligation that Pristina undertook in the dialogue with Belgrade," Petkovic said.

He indicated that Pristina deliberately created alleged obstacles to the implementation of the Brussels Agreement obligations.

"They should remove them themselves because the dialogue process and normalization of relations cannot progress if the Pristina politicians stubbornly continue to refuse to implement what was signed and at the same time brag about their own lack of credibility. Donika Gervalla Schwartz tries to explain that the Association of Serbian Municipalities is some kind of whim and not a daily need of an endangered people, although the daily violence carried out by Kurti's regime confirms that the creation of an effective political and institutional protection mechanism is a condition for the survival of the Serbian people and the protection of their collective rights. The Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is not a nineteenth-century concept, as Gervala Schwartz claims, but Kurti's politics of subjugating the Serbs and imposing absolute Albanian domination in Kosovo and Metohija is something that belongs to the darkest historical epochs," Petkovic said.

The Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, he added, with all the jurisdictions that belong to it according to the documents agreed with the EU mediation, must be formed.

"The sooner the hotheads in Pristina accept that fact, the sooner we will be able to continue a productive dialogue – and dialogue and compromise are the only way to resolve the decades-long and centuries-old problems between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic concluded.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gervalla, previously stated that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities was a dead proposal and could not be revived.
