Petkovic: Miljan was shot just because he is a Serb, the international community must react
The director of the office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic visited Miljan Delevic in the Kraljevo hospital today, who was wounded by members of the Kosovo Special Unit ROSU yesterday at the Bistrica bridge and stated that Delevic was shot just because he is a Serb, and called on the international community to act because the bullet could have cost his life.
He said that ROSU members had nothing to look for in the north of the southern Serbian province and that they had deployed their checkpoints in that territory only to harass and terrorize the Serbian people. He pointed out that the wounded Delevic personally confirmed to him today that the Kosovo police fired first yesterday.
"When you look at the car, you can see that it is riddled from the back and that the Kosovo police were actually the first to start the attack with the intention to literally kill Miljan and Dusan. Miljan has confirmed this to me now," Petkovic said.
The director of the office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that there was also footage from security cameras installed by the Kosovo police, so he stressed that they should show that footage and not "continue with propaganda, wanting to cover up the truth that the Kosovo police are harassing the Serbian people in northern Kosovo on a daily basis."
He pointed out that it was not the Kosovo police's task to attack and shoot Serbian children and to mistreat the Serbian people neither in the south nor in the north of Kosovo.
"Their task is not to wound the Serbian people, they have literally nothing to look for in the north of Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic says.
He believes that yesterday's situation was much more than a provocation and that the bullet received by Miljan Delevic could have been fatal for him. He thanked the hospital director and the Kraljevo mayor for the help provided to the injured boy and added that Delevic would be transferred to the Military Medical Academy.
Petkovic indicated that the unfortunate event was the last warning to the international community that someone would suffer because of Albin Kurti's and ROSU members' arrogance.
He stated that ROSU set up a checkpoint on the Bistrica bridge and on the road to Brnjak, where they mistreated the Serbian people, held them for hours, searched them, and stripped them to their bare skin.
"They are doing this to present that Kurti has power in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and that they rule in that territory. According to any agreement, they have nothing to claim in the north of the southern Serbian province," the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija reiterated.
He said that the international community must react and stop "this evil coming from Pristina" because that was the only way to preserve peace and people's lives.
