Petkovic: Instead of attacking the Serb List, Von Cramon should protest because Pristina is not forming the CSM
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated today that Viola von Cramon would be better off regretting and protesting the fact that Pristina had refused to fulfill its obligations and form the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM), which had been agreed upon within the framework of the Brussels Dialogue, rather than attacking the Serb List for not participating in the elections.
"It is regrettable that Viola von Cramon refuses to see that the problem lies with Albin Kurti, who wants to be the de facto mayor of all municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija with only two percent of Albanian support. Additionally, an undisguised Albanian lobbyist, instead of criticizing her Pristina offspring for failing to respect signed obligations, she blames official Belgrade without any evidence that it is behind the decision of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija to boycott the elections," Petkovic stated in a press release.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija added that von Cramon should "before continuing to earn a salary by attacking Belgrade, look at the statement of the Serbian people of Kosovo and Metohija from November 5, 2022, which clearly stated that there is no return to institutions until the Community of Serb Municipalities is formed, in accordance with the Brussels Agreement."
"Therefore, if she cares so much about the participation of Serbs in elections in Kosovo and Metohija, let her force Pristina to form the CSM and withdraw its illegal special units from the north, which have no business being there! I did not see Ms. von Cramon yesterday loudly criticizing Pristina, which has been refusing to fulfill its obligations from the dialogue for ten years, or are obligations only present when Belgrade is in question, and Pristina is forgiven for everything?" Petkovic said.
He added that "if that is the case, let her say it clearly and directly, and let her not insult our intelligence by swapping the roles and claiming that Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija and official Belgrade are responsible for something."
"Serbs from northern Kosovo and Metohija have been in institutions and participated in elections for 10 years, and the CSM has not been formed, and that is the truth that Ms. von Cramon needs to face," Petkovic said.
The rapporteur of the European Parliament for Kosovo, Viola von Cramon, assessed that the boycott of the extraordinary elections in four municipalities in northern Kosovo by the Serb List was a big mistake and added that she did not expect any major tensions to arise.
