Petkovic: Kurti is preparing the ground for new terror against the Serbs with brutal campaign of lies and disinformation

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had today "started preparing the ground for new terror and persecution of the Serbian people in northern Kosovo and Metohija through a brutal campaign of lies and disinformation."

"It is now clear that he will continue to use unsustainable conspiracy theories and fabricated threats to intensify repression against Serbs in the upcoming period," Petkovic conveyed in a media statement.

Petkovic added that occupiers throughout history had always sought to present themselves as protectors of the oppressed.

"However, Kurti's tactic of 'I'm occupying you for your own good' will not pass with the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, who have long seen through Pristina's intentions and experience the consequences of Kurti's terror every day. The exclusive source of all problems in Kosovo and Metohija is Kurti and his criminal paramilitary police, which spread terror and fear among the peaceful Serbian people in the northern part of the province," Petkovic stated.

According to him, the only path to building peace and reducing tensions is through the necessary de-escalation that Pristina must implement.

"And without delay, withdraw its police phalanxes from the northern part of the province, cease daily arrests of innocent Serbs, and all other forms of oppression. Kurti will not willingly agree to any withdrawal because his goal is neither dialogue nor normalization but a fundamental change in the situation on the ground through perfidious ethnic cleansing under the guise of caring about security in northern Kosovo and Metohija. Therefore, influential international actors in Kosovo and Metohija must face reality and halt Kurti's project," Petkovic concluded.
