Petkovic with Makovec: Pristina to take concrete steps towards de-escalation

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, met today with the Deputy Director for Europe of the European External Action Service, Marko Makovec, to discuss the political and security situation in Kosovo and the importance of dialogue.

Petkovic emphasized the need for Pristina to take concrete steps towards de-escalation in northern Kosovo to ensure peace and security for all. He noted that Albin Kurti consistently took actions that further escalated tensions on the ground.

Makovec underlined serious concerns about the events in Banjska on September 24 and stressed the importance of conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances.

He emphasized the necessity of reducing tensions, de-escalation, and returning to dialogue under the auspices of the EU.

The head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, also attended the meeting.
