Petkovic: Kurti's message that he will not form the CSM shows Pristina authorities' anti-Serb stance

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, says that Albin Kurti's announcement today that he will not form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities shows the undemocratic, autocratic, and anti-Serb stance of the authorities in Pristina, but also how right President Aleksandar Vucic was when he said that he did not expect a positive approach from Pristina when it comes to respecting the agreement.

Petkovic points out that Vucic read Kurti like an open book, and his message last night that he does not expect Pristina to form the CSM is a clear indication that Belgrade knows who it is dealing with, but also that we will never give up on the formation of the CSM, as agreed in the agreement in Brussels ten years ago.

"Kurti would not be able to send such messages if he did not see encouragement from certain Western countries. The EU can reward Pristina with visa liberalization as much as they like, but one thing is certain: Serbia, under President Vucic, will never recognize the so-called independence of Kosovo and will never agree on the so-called membership of Kosovo in the UN. Therefore, Kurti can say whatever he wants, but that does not reduce Pristina's legal obligation to respect and fulfill the reached agreements, primarily the obligation to form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities," Petkovic stated.
