Vucic: Kurti is right when he says that I always talk about the CSM; I respect international law and signed agreements
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, says that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is right when he says that in every conversation he asks for the formation of the CSM because, as he states, he adheres to international law and signed agreements.
"Kurti is right, I have a speech impediment, I adhere to international law, the UN Charter, and the signed agreements," Vucic said from Qatar, where he was participating in the Conference organized by the United Nations.
Vucic emphasized that it was certain that Serbia would face many pressures.
"Many were reckless and angry, hoping that I would sign something and that they would be able to say that Serbia had lost because they were never worried about Serbia but about their armchairs and if they could get hold of those armchairs that they were not deserving of. I like it when they say that the situation is different today because 27 countries have withdrawn their recognition of Kosovo's independence. They brag about what I did and not what they did, because no country withdrew the recognition during their time," Vucic added.
On the occasion of the German party Alternative for Germany MP's request that Brussels withdraw its recognition of Kosovo, he said that it was not realistic for that to happen but that it was crucial that there were rational attitudes in Europe.
"That is not realistic; Olaf Scholz's government is leading the politics together with the Greens and liberals, but it is important to me that there are many rational attitudes in Europe," Vucic stated.
He pointed out that at the meeting with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, he had discussed investments.
"It was our first bilateral meeting. We were the first to meet with the Emir of Qatar, which is a great honor. It is clear that this is a conference of great importance, and we will strive to do the best for our country. Regarding the meeting with the sheikh, we talked about the economy, investments, and his upcoming visit," Vucic said.
As he added, one of the topics was the strategic partnership with Air Serbia.
Vucic denied allegations that Serbia exports weapons to Ukraine.
"Serbia did not send weapons to anyone. Serbia produces and sells ammunition. We have many factories in the defense industry in Serbia. When you produce ammunition, it always ends up somewhere on the battlefield or in a world crisis area. We have not sold a single piece of weaponry, tool, or ammunition to Russia or Ukraine. There is an authorized user in Serbia, and Serbia can only export to such countries. They say we exported through Turkey. Knowing that there is a possibility that part of the goods may be sent to any side on the battlefield, we added that it is impossible to export the ammunition that we gave to Turkey," Vucic concluded.
