Petkovic: Osmani’s unhealed wound is that Vucic stands out with his vision and care for the region
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated today that Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, speaking from Drac, once again confirmed that her “unhealed wound” is the fact that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stands out among other regional leaders for his vision, seriousness, and genuine concern for the future of the Western Balkans.
“From her limited perspective as an intruder and tourist at such gatherings, Osmani cannot understand when someone acts and thinks beyond the framework of Balkan paranoia and jealousy toward others, showing genuine statesmanlike responsibility toward the entire region and all peoples who live in it,” Petkovic said in a statement.
He assessed that it is only natural that Osmani, as a “representative of a provisional political structure” which, he said, is responsible for one of the greatest ethnic cleansings in modern European history, lacks any sense of the collective interests of the states and peoples of the Western Balkans.
Petkovic added that Osmani’s appearances at international gatherings are not only demonstrations of paranoia and blind hatred toward everything Serbian, but also proof that the loss of a sense of reality has become a collective illness among many political elites, with some ready to build the future on lies, false premises, and the shaky foundations of post-truth.
He emphasized that Pristina persistently tries to play the role of a victim at international forums, even though it is clear that the real victims of Pristina’s separatist policy are not its creators and enforcers, but nearly a quarter of a million internally displaced Serbs, as well as those still living in Kosovo who, he said, are victims of an apartheid the likes of which has not been seen in Europe since World War II.
“Pristina and its representatives continuously attempt to construct a reversed reality, where everything is the opposite of the truth — so the creation of security pacts that are not defensive but aggressive and directed against Serbia is presented as a peace initiative, while the illegal arming of Albanian separatists and the establishment of military formations contrary to international law is portrayed as pacifism,” Petkovic said.
He added that the “nonsense coming from Vjosa Osmani’s repertoire” cannot mislead or deceive any responsible and reasonable person.
“Our region today has a chance for a peaceful and prosperous future precisely because there are still statesmen like President Vucic, who are ready not to turn a blind eye to reality and to call things by their true name,” Petkovic concluded.
Earlier today, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated, following the Brdo–Brioni Process summit in Drac, that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had tried to disrupt the meeting with arrogance and insults.
