Petkovic: By raiding the Red Cross facility, Kurti strikes at the very foundations of Serbian survival in Kosovo

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated regarding the Kosovo Police raid on the Kosovo and Metohija Red Cross facility "Dragisa Murganic," located in Zubin Potok at Lake Gazivode that Albin Kurti is striking at the very foundations of the Serbian people's survival in Kosovo and is endangering the work of this important international humanitarian organization.
"By raiding the Red Cross facility, Kurti is attacking the very foundations and essentials of the Serbian people's survival in Kosovo and Metohija and is jeopardizing the work of this important international humanitarian organization. The Office for Kosovo and Metohija will inform all relevant international representatives about this," Petkovic emphasized in a statement.
He explained that the facility was used exclusively for training children and course participants in first aid and rescue, for various sports competitions, training and lectures, accommodations for tourists and athletes visiting this part of Kosovo and Lake Gazivode, as well as for organizing official visits.
"A large number of police officers entered the facility today and are conducting a search. The security guard and doorman were not allowed to accompany them during the search, which leaves a lot of room for manipulation by Kurti’s forces. It is especially telling that Albanian news portals published extensive, unsubstantiated, and tendentious articles about this facility just three days ago, attempting to discredit it and effectively create media justification and preparation for this violent and unlawful raid and takeover of the premises," Petkovic stated.
He added that the Red Cross facility has been frequently visited over the years by KFOR personnel, especially from the German contingent, in order to familiarize themselves with the operations of the Red Cross and to hold regular meetings with the leadership of this international organization. There had never been any issues with the facility, except for Kurti's intent to forcibly seize it.
