Petkovic: Rohde has gone beyond diplomatic frameworks and positioned himself as Kurti's spokesperson
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, criticized the German ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, for what he described as open support for Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and a clear animosity towards the Serb List.
Petkovic, commenting on Rohde's statement that Serbia interfered in the elections in Kosovo, emphasized that the German ambassador has once again stepped out of diplomatic boundaries and the proclaimed political neutrality.
"The German diplomat in Pristina, Jörn Rohde, has once again stepped out of diplomatic frameworks and at least the proclaimed political neutrality and positioned himself as a spokesperson for Albin Kurti, repeating his clichés and disinformation, ignoring obvious facts. Therefore, let’s go step by step. It is clear that Kurti is disturbed by the overwhelming victory of the Serb List and the support of the Serbian people in the recent elections, and would rather see his subordinate Nenad Rasic in the parliament, to whom he is trying to give a parliamentary seat by all possible dishonest means. However, we are surprised that even the German representative does not hide his favorites nor his animosity towards the Serb List, which represents the will of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic pointed out.
He questioned how it was possible that Rohde did not speak out against the manipulations by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the fact that only Serbian votes have not been counted even ten days after the election.
Furthermore, Petkovic criticized Rohde for failing to notice, as he put it, the rioting and provocations with Albanian flags in the center of North Mitrovica.
"As Mr. Rohde didn’t see that, he also didn’t want to see the direct support Albin Kurti gave to the so-called student protests in Belgrade, which he unequivocally expressed in Zagreb on December 13, 2024, while simultaneously attacking official Belgrade, just as he is doing today. The support that was all over the Pristina media, the German representative forgot to mention," noted the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
Petkovic is convinced that it bothers Rohde that Belgrade supported the Serb List, the only party fighting for the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo.
"But what Mr. Rohde saw and what bothers him a lot is that Belgrade supported the Serb List, the only party that fights for the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and represents the lifeline of our people in Kosovo and Metohija with Belgrade. And we will never hide this support, just as we will continue to help the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. Now it is clear who Mr. Rohde's favorites were in the recent elections, but with the greatest support for the Serb List, Serbs have said what they think about Pristina's favorites," Petkovic concluded.
