Petkovic: Rohde's statement is the culmination of making the dialogue and agreements meaningless

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic stated that German Ambassador to Kosovo Jorn Rohde's statement "that Pristina will not have to form the Community of Serb Municipalities to be admitted to the Council of Europe" is the culmination of making the dialogue and agreements reached in Brussels meaningless.

"If Rohde intends to abolish the achievements of Dialogue and reward Pristina for deceptions, he should say so clearly. It is incredible that anyone in the EU political and diplomatic community even considers admitting Pristina to the Council of Europe, in a moment when Albin Kurti’s regime exerts extensive legal, political, and physical violence against the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic wrote on the social network X.

He added that "the imperative for observance of human rights and taken obligations must prevail over any one-off political interests."

"Otherwise, by relativizing and neglecting the position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, Europe denies itself," Petkovic concluded.
