Petkovic with Slovak Ambassador: Kurti violates his own regulations to harm Serbs in Kosovo

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, briefed the Slovak Ambassador to Serbia, Michal Pavuk, on the progress of the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue, emphasizing that Pristina has no genuine intention to normalize relations, but instead undermines achieved agreements and the rights of the Serbian people through unilateral actions.

According to a statement from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petkovic also informed Pavuk about a series of escalatory measures that the Pristina regime has taken against the Serbian population.

“Petkovic emphasized that there is no sincere commitment from Pristina to normalizing relations or to constructive dialogue with Belgrade, and that Kurti’s regime repeatedly takes unilateral and unlawful actions aimed at undermining the dialogue and achieved agreements, notably the First Brussels Agreement on the normalization of relations. He reminded that Pristina has refused for a full 12 years to form the Community of Serb Municipalities,” the statement said.

He pointed out to his interlocutor that yesterday’s denial of guaranteed rights to the Serb List in the Pristina parliament demonstrates that Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti is, in Petkovic’s assessment, violating even his own regulations just to harm the Serbian people and their only legitimate representatives.

“Despite numerous obstructions by Pristina, Belgrade will continue to be an even stronger support for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, through economic empowerment as well as political and diplomatic efforts within the dialogue in Brussels,” the statement from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concluded.
