The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, pointed out that with the formal judicial end, as he stated, of the political persecution of the President of the Provisional Authority of the Municipality of Zvecan, Ivan Todosijevic, justice won, and that Serbia would continue to fight for every Serb who was targeted by Pristina.

As stated in Petkovic's statement, Todosijevic, as one of the most respected and honorable Serbs from the north of Kosovo, and his family will finally have a sigh of relief after the torture they have been subjected to by the institutions in Pristina.

"Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic resolutely stood by Ivan Todosijevic from the very beginning, both because of his personal qualities and because of the fact that the verdict by which he would be punished for expressing his position on Racak would be a precedent, on the basis of which every Serb from our southern province could be sent to prison because of a spoken word that is different from Pristina's propaganda narratives," Petkovic emphasized.

He added that through continuous political and diplomatic action, all relevant foreign interlocutors were made aware that Serbia and the Serbian people do not intend, at any cost, to agree to the fact that in the modern world, in the heart of Europe, someone's right to opinion and speech is denied.

"In particular, President Vucic insisted at every opportunity that the violence against Ivan Todosijevic must not be forgotten before the onslaught of some other difficult and serious challenges for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. Just as we fought for Ivan Todosijevic and his family, we will fight for every Serb who is targeted by Pristina today, and we will not stop fighting as long as any Serb man or Serb woman in Kosovo and Metohija is a victim of political persecution," said Petkovic.

He reminded that Todosijevic, because of his publicly stated position on the events in Racak, faced "organized persecution in the form of a politically instructed court marathon", which caused him and his entire family to suffer.

"The only ones in Kosovo and Metohija today who can be accused of "inciting hatred, discord and intolerance" are Albin Kurti and his politically like-minded extremists," concluded Petkovic.
