Petar Petkovic, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, responded to Blerim Vela, an advisor to Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani, by stating that the way "Kosovo is as a state" was best illustrated by the fact that Osmani's counterparts at the Granada Summit had received her in what he referred to as "rooms for storing rags and brooms."

Petkovic made this response on the social media platform "X" after Vela had previously "thanked" Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for including Kosovo as one of the "47 states" that had been present at the Granada Summit, and Petkovic added that Kosovo would receive recognition from Serbia "when hell freezes over."

"What kind of so-called 'state' you are and what your 'president' is like is best described by the fact that her counterparts received her in rooms designated for storing rags and brooms. You will receive recognition from Serbia when hell freezes over," Petkovic stated.
