Petkovic: We sent the last appeal to the international community; the Serbs will no longer suffer the cruelty of Kurti
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that yesterday everyone could watch the synchronized attack of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti on Serbs, both north and south of the Ibar.
"Those in Pristina are not afraid of anything; they invaded Velika Hoca because the owner of the winery, Petrović, did not pay some excise taxes. Since the coronavirus pandemic started, he has not sold that wine; he kept it in the cellar. Although he tried to come to an agreement with them yesterday they didn't want to hear it, instead, they confiscated 42,000 liters of wine from him. The way they did it was rude, they poured 25 types of wine into one tank," Petkovic said.
Petkovic added, in the Morning show on TV Pink that no one could understand and comprehend what Kurti was doing and added that Belgrade had informed all international representatives about everything, including Miroslav Lajcak, asking that KFOR and EULEX react and protect the Serbs. He assessed that everything that was happening was a shame for the international community, which had allowed Kurti to do the Serbs whatever he wanted to.
"This is the last call to the international community because the people will no longer suffer the cruelty of Albin Kurti," Petkovic said.
Petkovic pointed out that the message to the international community was, as he said, "not to play games and not to be surprised when it sees Serbia's decisions".
He added that many things could be changed if Kurti continued to mistreat the Serbs and that was why he had said that Serbia would consider the return of up to 1,000 members of the security forces to the territory of Kosovo, in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
"We just want to adhere to the international law. If KFOR and EULEX are not able to protect the Serbs and they allow the mistreatment of the people, there is someone who will protect the Serbs," Petkovic said.
He said that whether there would be a normalization of relations and whether there would be any talks at all, and as he pointed out, Belgrade's approach had always been to talk, at that moment was very questionable because of Kurti.
"First, someone needs to reason with Kurti, who wants war and causes riots every day. Let someone reason with him first, then we can talk; he doesn't want an agreement, he wants to bury the Brussels Agreement," Petkovic emphasized.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija pointed out that the invasion of the Kosovo Police in the yard of the kindergarten in Leposavic had been a pure provocation.
"They are doing it on purpose; they want to cause incidents, to cause a new crisis, to scare the people. The reason for this, allegedly, was a robbery, and later it turned out that the car came from the south, and when they couldn't rob the bank, they headed to the south of Mitrovica. The idea was to stage the whole event in order to start with the actions that happened during the evening,” Petkovic explains.
He added that he had to comment on the fact that yesterday there had been no response from Rada Trajkovic or Nenad Rasic.
"Yesterday, there were neither letters nor words from Rada nor Rasic. In no way did they condemn the brutal attack on the bare-handed people, and all those scenes in Velika Hoca, everything that happened last night is not something that concerns them, because they support Kurti and they implement his politics and justify what Kurti did. And what happened last night was that about 300-350 policemen marched to the north of Kosovo from the southern part," Petkovic said.
