Petkovic: Who approved Kurti's visit to northern Kosovo?
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, announced that just one day before the resumption of dialogue in Brussels, Albin Kurti decided to raise new tensions in northern Kosovo by visiting the municipality of Leposavic and then Zubin Potok. He questioned, "Who approved Kurti's visit and which international representatives were informed?"
Petkovic emphasized that this move by Kurti represents a new threat to Serbs in northern Kosovo, a move aimed at directly provoking new tensions in the north and demonstrating that he is not interested in any normalization or de-escalation.
"To be clear - Kurti has no business in northern Kosovo and Metohija, where he is unwelcome. The fact that the entire town of Leposavic was blocked during his visit to the municipal building, where he was met by his self-appointed and fake mayor, speaks volumes. Also, the fact that the streets were empty in Leposavic and Zubin Potok clearly shows that the Serbian people show disdain for this Kurti's provocation," Petkovic stated.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija noted that Kurti, like any uninvited guest, "had to be surrounded by numerous police units with long rifles escorting him during his visit to the municipality of Leposavic, which is being violently and under the terror led by Self-Determination, with less than 100 votes won."
Petkovic pointed out that Kurti's move has sparked revolt and bitterness among Serbs, who see him as an "occupier who harasses them daily and perpetrates institutional, physical, and every other form of violence against them."
"The question arises as to who approved Kurti's visit to the north, who among the international representatives was informed, and whether KFOR and EULEX assisted and gave consent for this provocation?" Petkovic asked.
