Quint: We regret that the Serb List is not participating in the elections

The countries of the Quint issued a statement in which they regretted the decision of the Serb List not to participate in the upcoming local elections in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo scheduled for April 23.

The announcement states that The Embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States acknowledge that, following the postponement of municipal elections in December 2022, four mayoral elections and two municipal assembly elections will take place on 23 April 2023, consistent with legal requirements.

“We regret that the Serb List did not make use of the democratic right to participate in these elections. Elections are the cornerstone of democracy. Ensuring that they are held in a peaceful and orderly manner is essential. We expect that the relevant authorities will act with professionalism. We call on all sides to exercise restraint and avoid violence, which may disrupt the elections,” the announcment states.
