Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that the actions of the police in the north of Kosovo were completely unnecessary and indicated that the friends of Kosovo and Albania were "deeply concerned".

Rama asked if what was happening in Kosovo helped the process in which all friends of Kosovo and Albanians were engaged, in the process of normalization and mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia, and added that this was certainly not the case, because "our great friends have expressed deep concern".

"I join them in calling not to continue with such moves because it is not only dangerous, but it is a completely unnecessary path today," Rama announced on Twitter, alluding to the events in the north of Kosovo when three newly elected mayors of municipalities with majority Serb population with the assistance of the Kosovo police entered their offices.

He stated that this action was unnecessary.

"It is an unnecessary path at a time when the democratic world has invested everything in dialogue, normalization, and mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia, and when it is in the center of attention of the US, Albania, and the European Union," Rama stated.
