Rohde: Clear message to Kosovo from Berlin – Cooperation needed, not further escalatory moves

German Ambassador Jorn Rohde emphasized that a clear message has been sent to Kosovo from Berlin – cooperation is needed, not further escalatory steps.

Commenting on social media platform Bluesky, Ambassador Rohde referred to the statement of Michael Reiffenstuel, Director for the Western Balkans, Turkey, the Council of Europe and the OSCE at the German Federal Foreign Office, who called on Kosovo to immediately refrain from actions targeting health institutions administered by Serbia.

“A clear message from Berlin: coordination and cooperation are needed, not further escalatory moves,” Rohde stated.

Reiffenstuel described as troubling the actions undertaken by the Kosovo authorities last week and urged Kosovo to refrain from attacking health institutions administered by Serbia.

On Friday, inspectors accompanied by the Kosovo Police entered the premises of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund and the Health Insurance Fund in North Mitrovica, which operate within the Serbian system.
