The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has expressed concern over the closure of the RFZO and PIO Fund offices in North Mitrovica, stating that this will affect users of healthcare services, pension payments, school materials, and social support.

They emphasized that the suspension of services most severely impacts the elderly, persons with disabilities, and families with limited means.

“All measures affecting public services must ensure unhindered access for all communities while disputes are resolved through EU-mediated dialogue and with significant local consultations,” the Mission stated.

They added that they will continue to closely monitor the situation as part of their mandate and in providing support to affected communities.

Prior to the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, the EU Office in Kosovo also reacted, assessing that the raid by Kosovo police on the premises of the Republic Health Insurance Fund (RFZO) and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO) in North Mitrovica, run by Serbia, represents yet another uncoordinated action by the outgoing Kosovo government, and that such actions negatively affect the lives of ordinary citizens, primarily Serbs in Kosovo, but also other communities living there.
