Rrezarta Krasniqi: Instead of creating a petition, mayors should resign

Member of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Rrezarta Krasniqi, has deemed the government's interference in the judicial system as unacceptable, stating that over the past three years, there had been numerous arrests of individuals close to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and that only those close to him ended up in the Dubrava prison, Ekonomia Online reports.

"During the campaign, Kurti often mentioned that the 'Dubrava prison will grow a few stories taller,' and now we see that only people close to the Prime Minister, like his friend Ridi and even the Self-Determination Movement councilor in Pristina, who was arrested for narcotics, are the ones being sent to the Dubrava prison," Krasniqi stated.

Regarding the situation in the north, she expects that de-escalation will come from the current mayors resigning.

"I think it would be appropriate for the current mayors to resign rather than creating a petition, because that takes more time, and this situation needs to be resolved as soon as possible. The mayors should resign because we know how they were elected; they were democratically elected, but there wasn't a large number of voters. They should resign and come forward to explain how they agreed on the Bratislava Agreement," Krasniqi stated.
