Rrusta: Kurti can call international representatives' statements whatever he wants, but those are sanctions threats

Social Democratic Party MP Teute Rrusta stated that Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, can call international representatives' statements whatever he wants, but those are ultimatums and threats of sanctions, as reported by Koha.

She emphasizes that the current situation is costing Kosovo dearly.

According to Rrusta, Kurti should not think that the citizens are naive and claim that what has been happening recently is not a threat of sanctions.

"Let Kurti call it whatever he wants, but these are ultimatums and threats of sanctions. The words of international representatives sound harsh and are already costing Kosovo dearly. In recent days, we have experienced some consequences in our relations with international representatives. The Prime Minister has a responsibility not to treat citizens as people who understand nothing. It is an insult to the citizens of Kosovo to say that these are not threats of sanctions, and it is a mistake to say that there is no tension in the relations," Rrusta said.

She added that the Kosovo flags placed on municipal buildings in the north would be removed.

"Kurti did not have to bring the situation to this point. It has gone too far. The previous ruling parties did not create interethnic harmony, but there were no conflicts either. Today, there are significant tensions in areas where Albanians and Serbs live. What is the purpose of a flag that will be immediately removed? What does it mean to put it on municipal buildings because you want to escalate the situation and then claim that you wanted to push that issue to the end but were not allowed?" Rrusta asked.

According to her, all of this will only harm Kosovo's relations with the international community.

"Kurti will retreat, but he wants to establish the CSM without taking on excessive responsibility," Rrusta concluded.
