Scholz: Concrete steps in establishing the CSM are important for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz today, in a conversation with Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti, emphasized the importance of concrete steps in establishing the Community of Serb Municipalities in the context of Kosovo's request for membership in the Council of Europe, announced German government spokesman Stefan Hebentrait.

In a phone call with Kurti, Scholz reiterated Germany's support for Kosovo's European integration and emphasized the importance of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia mediated by the EU and the full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, as stated in the German government's statement.

The German Chancellor welcomed the implementation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo's decision regarding the Visoki Decani Monastery.

"Scholz emphasized the importance of concrete steps by the Kosovo authorities towards establishing the Community of municipalities with a Serbian majority, in the context of Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe," stated Hebentrait.

Scholz and Kurti agreed in their conversation to stay in touch and continue open communication.
