At the Basic Court in Pristina, today marks the beginning of the second hearing in the case of Sladjan Trajkovic from North Mitrovica, who is charged by the Special Prosecution for alleged war crimes in Kosovo during the period from 1998 to 1999.

The previous hearing, during which the indictment was supposed to be read, was postponed because the Prosecution did not provide the defense lawyer with complete documentation.

Today's hearing is closed to the public, and Sladjan Trajkovic's family is present in the courtroom.

Trajkovic was arrested on December 15 last year in Bosniak Mahalla in North Mitrovica and has been in detention since then.

The Specialist Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo has brought charges against Sladjan Trajkovic for war crimes against the civilian population during the period from 1998 to 1999, in the village of Reznik in the municipality of Vucitrn and surrounding villages.

In early November last year, Trajkovic, together with other colleagues, left the Kosovo Police in protest against the violence that the authorities in Pristina were exerting against Serbs in the north.
