Family of Sladjan Trajkovic: We believe in God's justice, not in Pristina's
The family members of Sladjan Trajkovic, whom the Special Prosecutor's Office in Pristina accuses of alleged war crimes in Kosovo during the period from 1998 to 1999, are concerned about his health, but they say that they believe in justice.
Sladjan's daughter, Jelena, said after today's hearing, which was interrupted, that her father was innocent and that it would be proven.
"I am sorry you couldn't take pictures of his feet; they forced him to wear shoes in prison because he cannot enter the court in slippers. Otherwise, he is barefoot there. He has wounds and lacks adequate medical treatment, and they refuse to mitigate his detention. Today, we saw that the prosecutor does not have complete files or that they have not been delivered to the attorney, who, for that reason, cannot prepare the defense properly," Jelena said.
The investigation against Trajkovic allegedly began in 2009, and, as Jelena reminds, he was integrated into the Kosovo Police in 2013.
"Before someone is integrated, there is a check, and a certificate is obtained from the court that no process is being conducted against them and that they have no convictions, but according to them, the investigation was launched four years before his integration. Clearly, these are lies, and that is why the prosecutor cannot deliver the files to the lawyer, who, although working according to the law, has no opportunity to prove his innocence," Jelena Trajkovic emphasizes.
Sladjan Trajkovic's wife, Suzana, states that they only believe in God's justice, not in Pristina's.
"Just by being here today, we are showing that Sladjan is innocent. We are ready to fight, and we will fight until he is free. We believe in justice, but not Pristina's, only in God's justice, and the only court we acknowledge is God's court. I can only say to the witnesses and the prosecutor that they will suffer before God because it is clear what they are doing to the Serbs," Suzana Trajkovic stated.
