The Serb List: KFOR and EULEX to protect the Serbs and Serbian holy sites

The Serb List today asked KFOR and EULEX to protect the Serbs and Serbian holy places in Kosovo, recalling that on the second day of Easter, as a result of the incendiary rhetoric of Albin Kurti's regime, an explosive device had been thrown at the Church of Saint Panteleimon in Prizren.

As stated in the announcement of the Serb List, the sanctity had not been completely destroyed by sheer luck and thanks to a random passer-by who had reacted.

"In the 21st century, on the soil of Europe, in the territory that Kosovo's leaders advertise as a bastion of democracy and human rights, the religious objects of the Serbs are being destroyed, in front of the eyes of local and international security institutions. This is another proof of the intolerance that the Serbs are facing, but and proof of the need that the position and property of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija must be protected with strong guarantees at the international level," the statement said.

The Serb List reminds that the Church of Saint Panteleimon and the Serbian sanctities in the imperial city of Prizren suffered terribly after 1999, especially in the March pogrom of 2004, and that no one was ever held accountable for it.

"We call on the competent international institutions, above all KFOR and EULEX, to protect the Serbs and Serbian holy places, because inciting hatred towards everything Serbian has become part of the daily statements of the leaders of Kosovo institutions, which show that they are not ready to protect our people and our holy places," they point out in the statement.
