Serb List: Kurti wants to ethnically cleanse Kosovo of all Non-Albanians
The beating of Gorani detainee Shaqir Lutvia in the Podujevo prison is evidence of Albin Kurti's intent to ethnically cleanse Kosovo of all non-Albanians, Serb List highlights.
“Albin Kurti’s desire to ethnically cleanse Kosovo and Metohija is not only directed against Serbs but also against other non-Albanians, whose numbers are decreasing daily in these areas. The clearest example is the beating of detained Gorani, Shaqir Lutvia, in Podujevo prison by Albanian guards. The brutal assault on a detainee is a terrible example of institutional repression fueled by extreme statements from the Pristina regime, creating an atmosphere where beating non-Albanians is permitted and goes unpunished,” the statement adds.
According to Serb List, this is not an isolated case of detainees being beaten.
“That is why it is necessary for international representatives to finally break the silence, stand up, and raise their voices in defense of the human rights of Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija. Someone must finally make the Pristina regime come to its senses and stop the institutional repression that has been carried out at all levels over the past three years against members of minority communities. The fact that none of the police or other officials have been conclusively convicted for violating the rights of Serbs and non-Albanians confirms that this is not an isolated incident but systemic repression that must be condemned by all,” the statement asserts.
