After the arrest of two Serbs, Aleksandar Vlajic from Kosovska Mitrovica and Srdjan Lazovic from Leposavic, the Serbian List stated that the Kosovo authorities, led by Albin Kurti, aim to continue provoking tensions, intimidating, and expelling Serbs to achieve complete ethnic cleansing of Kosovo.

The Serbian List announced that the arrests occurred the day after high-level talks in Brussels, where, they emphasize, Kurti showed he does not want to resolve issues between Serbs and Albanians through peaceful means and dialogue.

"Following yesterday, which demonstrated that Kurti does not want to resolve issues between Serbs and Albanians through peaceful means and dialogue, Kurti's regime has baselessly arrested Aleksandar Vlajic from Kosovska Mitrovica and Srdjan Lazovic from Leposavic. This clearly shows that he only aims to provoke crises, intimidate, and expel Serbs, making it evident that he is executing ethnic cleansing of the Serbian people from Kosovo and Metohija. Due to Albin Kurti's misdeeds, there are fewer Serbs every day," the statement says.

The party notes that the arrested Serbs are family men falsely accused of war crimes, describing the situation as politically motivated persecution and oppression of Lazovic and Vlajic.

"Two arrests within 24 hours of family men without any evidence, the day after the failed meeting in Brussels, confirm that this is politically motivated persecution and oppression of Lazovic and Vlajic. It sends a clear message that there is no place for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija while Kurti's regime is in power. The cases of war crimes charges are characteristic because they manipulate the emotions of families, and it is clear in practice that evidence for accusations against Serbs is not required; Kurti's orders are sufficient for their arrest and mistreatment," the Serbian List points out.

They emphasize that for years, the Serbian people have been suffering mistreatment and arrests in front of the international community, whose reaction has been absent.

The Serbian List called on international representatives to advocate for the arrested Serbs.

"For years, we have witnessed honorable Serbs being arrested, mistreated, and oppressed in front of international representatives, who often speak about human rights, democracy, the rule of law, and multiethnic Kosovo, suddenly and transparently going silent! We call on them once again to come out of their state of hibernation and demand the right for all arrested Serbs to defend themselves against false accusations from freedom, especially since the detention in the cases of the arrested Serbs has become an unofficial, illegal, and draconian punishment due to its duration," the statement concludes.
