The Serb List reacted today to Albin Kurti's statement after the meeting at the highest level in Brussels, that that party would "suffer and pay for the mistake they made", emphasizing that with such a speech, the Kosovo Prime Minister "showed the true face of an aggressor who harbors hatred for everything Serbian", but that the Serbs, as well as the members of the party, would not back down in the face of these threats.

"After running away from the negotiations again and slamming the door of the dialogue with the High Representatives of the European Union in the middle of Brussels, Albin Kurti directly in front of the EU headquarters where the dialogue is being held, sent a naked and brutal threat to the Serbs and the Serb List, saying that in the coming period, they would ‘pay and suffer' and thereby openly showed the true face of the aggressor who harbors hatred towards everything Serbian," the Serb List said in a statement.

This threat, they emphasize, must not be taken lightly, because, as they add, it comes from someone who is at the head of Kosovo's institutions and who, in the previous period, has demonstrated his intention to escalate the situation, provoke conflicts, and by creating tensions to threaten the peace of the areas and arrests and persecutes the Serbs without evidence and grounds.

The party asks what else the Prime Minister of Kosovo means when he says that they will "suffer and pay" if all pressures and mistreatment of the Serbs are taken into account.

"If in the two years of Kurti's regime, we had the shooting of the Serbs and even Serbian children, the beatings, arrests, and imprisonment of our fellow citizens without any evidence, the seizure of Serbian land through false expropriation, ethnically motivated attacks on the Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church throughout Kosovo and Metohija, the ban on treatment, vaccination, but also the ban on holding Serbian elections, the question arises as to what Kurti is promising us with the words that we will pay and suffer, with which he plans to further threaten the survival and stay of the Serbs and what can be expected in the coming period," the Serb List said.

They say that instead of de-escalation, the formation of the CSM, and the release of the arrested, the Serbs received only new threats yesterday in Brussels.

"Yesterday, we expected an answer from Albin Kurti and his henchmen when they would de-escalate the situation in the north, form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, release the unjustly arrested Serbs and when they would withdraw the illegally present special units and fake mayors from the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and we received brutal threats. The threats that have been sent are monstrous and come at a moment of fragile peace in these regions, and require a clear condemnation of international actors, the Quint countries, the European Union, and the freedom-loving world, but at the same time they reveal the true face of Albin Kurti and his occupation regime," the party said.

However, they emphasize that no threats will frighten the Serbs in Kosovo, as well as the members of the Serb List.

"We emphasize that these threats will not frighten our compatriots or the members of the Serb List in order to persevere in our just demands and democratic struggle for peace, the rights of the Serbs, and the end of the occupation that Kurti is carrying out in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. We know that we are on our own land and that we want peace, a secure future, and a better life for the Serbs and all citizens in Kosovo and Metohija," the announcement states.
