Serb List representatives with Kasanof and Hovenier: More active US involvement in protecting Serbs is needed
A delegation from the Serb List, led by President Zlatan Elek, met today in Pristina with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Balkans Alexander Kasanof and US Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hovenier.
According to a statement from the Serb List, the meeting highlighted the extremely difficult situation faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo due to unilateral, escalatory, and anti-Serb actions taken by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's regime, with the aim of persecuting everything Serbian.
"Our delegation particularly pointed out that all rights are being denied to the Serbs, with the intent to effectively stop life, and that the regime in Pristina is even violating its own regulations just to harm Serbs. They are seizing property, arresting and detaining innocent Serbs for months, assaulting Serbian children, and prohibiting the operation of institutions crucial to the survival of the Serbian people. All of this is happening in full view of the international community," the statement emphasized.
The Serb List delegation once again called for more active US involvement to protect the rights of the Serbian people and insisted on the implementation of the agreements from Brussels, particularly regarding the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which the Serbs have been waiting for 11 years.
