Serbs at the barricades on the 12th day; Kurti's statements brought additional tension

Serbs are at the barricades for the twelfth day in Zvecan, Zubin Potok, and Leposavic municipalities. The situation is calm but tense, especially after Prime Minister Albin Kurti's statement that removing the barricades cannot exclude casualties.

Citizens from the barricades say they will be removed when Miljan Adzic, Dejan Pantic, and Sladjan Trajkovic are released and when the Kosovo Police special forces withdraw from the north of Kosovo.

The crisis headquarters of the Serbian people from the north of Kosovo invited the Serbs to tomorrow's biggest protest so far at noon in Rudare.

Last night, the Kosovo Police Minister accused the Serb List President Goran Rakic of "maintaining barricades" for 11 days and blocking the possibility of action by the Kosovo Police and the movement of Kosovo citizens.

In practice, however, Svecla's politics in the north is reflected in the harsh abuse of force, the abrogation of all Serbs' rights, the arrests of people without any grounds, and threats of using weapons on a daily basis.
